A Little More Photo Fun

If you’ve been following my blog from the beginning you may remember a couple of fun posts involving little wooden mannequins that I’ve posed in funny situations.  The first one “Just Having Fun”  involved some of my friends building a hot tub on top of the stove.  The second one, a year later, showed one of the mannequins, Woody, painting graffiti on the side of a boxcar, “A Little Bit of Photo Fun“.  Now my little buddy, Woody has taken things too far.

I found him this morning, in the bathroom, hiding behind a shampoo bottle, peeking at Barbie, who was fixing her hair in front of the mirror on the bathroom vanity!  I told him I never want to see him doing anything like this again!

Not usually a creative, indoor, still life type photographer, sometimes my mind will dream up a funny situation with the mannequins.  It can be fun!

My interest in photography began as a college newspaper and yearbook photographer during the stormy 1960s and 1970s. I was influenced by many of the great photojournalists and documentary photographers such as W. Eugene Smith, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Margaret Bourke-White and other black and white photographers of Life Magazine and the earlier Farm Security Administration. Though many of these photographers documented the horrors of war and the plight of poverty, they also showed me the dignity and adaptability of human beings in their desire to prevail.
