Back in June I posted about a busy week and featured a few quick photos that I had taken that week. One of the photos was taken at the Chagrin Falls Blossom Time Balloon Festival. Today I’m finally getting back to editing some of those photos!
This balloon really caught my attention with it’s amusing graphic of the crescent moon! I spent quite a bit of time shooting this balloon from many different angles and managed to look up into the balloon as it was being inflated with hot air.
Finally the balloon was fully inflated and this shot is just a nice abstract view of the interior of the balloon.
This event occurs every year and I think I will try to attend more often! The colors and designs are beautiful and it is a photographer friendly event. Here is the original photo that I posted back in June once again. As our season turns to one of mainly monochrome shades of black, white and gray, these colors do much to “inflate” my mood!
How absolutely cool — watching the inside of the balloon as it fills with hot air! How would you describe the feeling — exhilaration? Thanks for sharing the experience!

Thanks Lenore and Patricia! It’s an event worth going to and there are others like it in the area every summer as well!

Great shots Kolman! I really like how you worked with the colors and shapes.
I shot one of these events several years ago. Too much fun.

Thanks Don! Lucky this day, the weather didn’t let them fly but they did inflate the balloons just for the crowd! Love the color and graphic nature of the event, I’ll be back!
Nice “Old School” portrait on your blog today!
