About

I am a freelance editorial, documentary and fine art photographer who resides and works in Mentor, OH.  I have won many awards for my photography and have had work published in a number of books, magazines and on television.  I also work part-time as a Photographic Specialist at Dodd Camera in Mentor and I teach photography for Dodd Camera and the Cleveland Photographic Society.

My interest in photography began as a college newspaper and yearbook photographer during the stormy 1960s and 1970s.  I was influenced by many of the great photojournalists and documentary photographers such as W. Eugene Smith, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Margaret Bourke-White and other black and white photographers of Life Magazine and the earlier Farm Security Administration.  Though many of these photographers documented the horrors of war and the plight of poverty, they also showed me the dignity and adaptability of human beings in their desire to prevail.

The camera serves as a portal for me to view common sites in an uncommon way.  It enables me to see, and point out to others, the beauty, irony, interest, humor and sometimes the ugliness of the world we live in.  I hope my images bring a realization to others that common things in life are often worth more than a glance, they are often worth a second glance.

My images will provide you with that second glance of the mundane, humorous, common-place, and sometimes ugly or painful aspects of our world with the intent of helping you also take the time to notice the dignity, beauty and adaptability that is evident in each.

        Hello Mr Rosenberg,
I was google-ing Rms Queen Elizabeth when your beautiful bridge image showed up. It led me here to your blog site. I tried to find an email to write to you personally but could not see one.
I have recently finished my book on the RMS Queen Elizabeth, to be previewed in full at, http://www.blurb.com/b/5373546-rms-queen-elizabeth
What a shame I never saw your image earlier as I would have asked if would be possible to have it included in the book.
However as my book is a Blurb self published book, I can always make alterations and add or subtract images. So in theory it would be possible to include it. Would you grant me permission to include this image in my book? I have bridge images but not as clear and good a quality as yours.
Did you take other images of your trip to the ship in Port Everglades that day in 1969?
I would truly love to see them – again, with the hope of possibly including them in the book. There are very few quality, colour images of the ship’s interior to be found.
I would love to hear from you. You can contact me at rvarisco10516391@aol.com
Looking very much forward to hearing from you.
        Best regards

      • Hello Ringo, I looked at the preview of your book and it is fantastic! I believe I have additional images and would be interested in possibly being included in your book. Let me contact you by email as I also see if I can find additional photos in my files. I did have many exquisite interior shots and I have a nice shot of the stern in digital format, looking up the stern line. Obviously they were shot on film and if I find them I will scan them into digital format.
Give me a few days and I’ll get back to you.
        Thanks for your interest!

Dear Kolman, sorry to keep pestering you but as I mentioned in my last message, I am editing my book on the Queen Elizabeth into a smaller version and need to know if you ever found those interior images of the ship. Either way its ok, I just need you to tell me yes or no so I can forget about it. Hope you’re well,
      regards Ringo.

I am currently editing my Queen Elizabeth book into a smaller version which will be published later in the year. I would still like to include your wonderful Bridge image if this is ok. Also you mentioned in previous correspondence with me that you have other images of the ship. Have you managed to locate them as I would love to see them with the intention of including them in my book. Please let me know.
